Our favorite "Energy Guru" Randy Udall was always fond of saying, "We must get our buildings off life support!"  While the sun bathes our planet with radiant energy, we drill holes in the earth to harvest combustible fluids and gases for heating our homes and running our economies.  We can all argue about the effect this cumulative combustion is having on ecosystems, but we can also agree that the most sustainable energy source on this planet is indeed the sun, and that we must design our collective lives around this as our direct, primary energy source, for the sake of our descendants and the environment in which they will live.
